cnn’s roland s. martin said it’s time for president obama to go gangsta! that’s right, he said: “when you're the top dog, you do what you have to do to govern.. channel your inner al capone and go gangsta against your foes.” sure obama could evoke the old school gangsta and go godfather on them, leaving horse heads for senators and congressmen, but since obama is reaching out to the youth of america, what if the white house went less capone and more 50 cent...i can see white house press secretary robert gibbs steppin’ to the mic in the press room to talk about health care: ”yo, O ain’t playin no mo’. what’s a brotha' gotta do to make you fools works together? bust a cap in yo’ ass? and if he did…would you have the green to pay for the medical? …didn’t think so.” whats your point on which gangsta approach would be more powerful? classic gangsta or modern gangsta?

to love, honor..and provide health care?

terri carlson, a 45 year old divorced mom from california, wants to get married, but not for love...not even for money...for health insurance!

carlson's cobra runs out in may and due to an autoimmune disease, finding new insurance will be hard. so she took to the web and launched willmarryforhealthinsurance.com where she let the world know that, while she would love to find love, she needs the insurance even more! she says in her video: “i don’t care what you look like...what I do care about is how good your health insurance is...so attach your health care benefit information.” while it may seem ludicrous that carlson hopes to tie the knot to snag health insurance, over 1,000 proposals came in a one week period alone.

my point, and i do have one...is what does this say about america? while washignton argues over health care, the average person is left to do whatever they need to in order to literally survive. and while i know it is a side issue, what does this say about the "sanctity" of marriage? this woman has the right to enter into holy matrimony purely for health care, yet our gay friends can't, even for love. god bless america!

Oprah Gets Two New Dogs for Her Birthday!

Oprah celebrated her 56th birthday on Jan. 29 with two new family members, 14-week-old springer spaniel siblings Sunny and Lauren!

Last year she got 2 cocker spaniels puppies, although one died from pravo. All the dogs came from the PAWS Chicago -- a no kill shelter. Hurray!!! Right?


She asked the shelter to find Springer Spaniel puppies and guess what? They came through.

Oprah said. "They could have been euthanized if they weren't adopted. Can you believe that? And now they're gonna go home with me."

OK, first of all as a dog lover and one that has been to many shelters, adoption fairs and pounds, these puppies would never have been put down. They would be adopted so quickly. So what point is she making. YES, call PAWS - they are a great organization but don't call looking for puppies, least of all purebred puppies. I looked at the Paws Chicago site and there wasn't a dog under 2 years old and most were mixed breeds.

If Oprah really wanted to change things, they would have brought out two middle aged mix breed dogs that people don't look twice at and turn out to be the best dogs in the end (that's for you my old girl Bailey)
